Winter 2017: Go Long, or Go Home

When the seasons change, so do the fashion trends, and most of us feel the itch to switch up our style to keep pace. Based on the latest from the fashion blogs and runway shows, the hot hairstyles for this season are long, long long! There’s just something about long hair in the wintertime—these cold days have us dreaming of romantic trysts by firelight, fingers tangled in long, luxurious curls, or tumbling waves swept back in the perfect, cozy, wool cap.

How do you like to wear your lengthy tresses in these cold months? Below are just a few of our favorite ways to switch up your style for the season.

Polished Ponies

Sleek ponytails, whether low, high, or somewhere in the middle, abounded on the Fall/Winter 2017 catwalks. We love this look for its timeless classiness, and for the ease with which you can throw it together—perfect for day or night. Start with a long wig, like Envy’s McKenzie, Veronica, or Sophia styles, and gently work a bit of our Beauty Balm sculpting creme through the strands. Then brush the hair back and secure with a damage-free ponytail holder. Spritz on some of our Shine On lusterizer for that high-octane gloss, and you’re good to go! For evening wear, dress up your pony by adding a few bedazzled bobby pins or tie it with a velvet bow.

Romantic Twists

Whether sleek or messy, the French twist is another timeless look, sure to be a head-turner at any holiday party. Our Lace Front wigs are perfect for these styles, as they can be combed away from the forehead and still look completely natural. Start with a wig like Belinda for a smooth, elegant twist, or wrangle Alana’s wild waves into place for a more carefree effect. Pair with a headband or an artistic hair clip for a look every woman will envy.

Sumptuous Curls

Long and loose, or tightly wound, curls are always in style, and there’s no easier way to glam up your ‘do than to twist your strands into a few well-placed corkscrews. Get some serious bouncy body with styles like Brianna or Jade. Or if you want to do it yourself, any of the styles in our Envyhair collection can be heat styled with temperatures up to 356°F (180°C). Taryn, Chelsea, and Veronica offer lots of lustrous length to play with!

Words of Wigdom
The secret to a perfectly natural look is a slightly imperfect part, says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Gently reposition strands along the part line or snip a few wispy pieces using manicure scissors—AND some restraint—for a slightly messy part that looks all your own.”

“Throughout my 20-year career, women’s comfort has always been at the top of my mind,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton, whose Stretch Cap Technology hugs the perimeter while eliminating pressure points for maximum comfort.”

For first-time wig wearers, “The trick is to stay close to the color of your eyebrows,” notes Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. If not, “then consider dyeing your eyebrows to match your chosen wig color.”

“Few people know that wigs can be styled just like natural hair—and that most hairstylists are happy to give your wig a custom cut,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Trimming bangs and shaping to your exact specifications can help make your wig indecipherable from your own natural hair.”

“The “Grey Hair, Don’t Care” trend—which saw women embracing their grey—is stronger than ever. And not just with the over-50 crowd. “Silver is chic, edgy and looks great on almost anyone,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton, who offers nearly every EnvyHair™ and synthetic style in 3 multi-dimensional grey shades.”
