Envy Wigs Went to the Races in May

We pride ourselves on quality at Envy Wigs and part of offering the best products and services also includes education. The more retailers and consumers know and understand about a product, the better it is for everyone. We strive to keep our customers informed and to that end, we hosted a one day seminar in May in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Over 50 attendees from all across the country signed up to spend the day learning from the leading wig designer in the industry today and creative force behind Envy Wigs, Alan Eaton. Alan showcased the collections from machine-made synthetics to the latest in fully hand-tied human hairstyles. The training event lasted eight hours and covered several of helpful topics including cutting and styling wigs, resizing caps, and maintenance and repair.

It wasn’t all about wig care though; attendees received an in-depth look at the manufacturing process, how caps are constructed, wefting, hackling of fibers and the tedious process of hand tied wigs. They gained knowledge from the creation of the wig to wearing it. Also included were discussions about the wide variety of wig styles Envy offers – machine made, Mono Top, Mono Part, Hand Tied, Lace Front, Envyhair and Human Hair.

Participants walked away with a greater understanding of wigs, but it wasn’t all work and no play. The training session included breakfast and lunch which gave attendees the perfect opportunity to network with others within the wig industry. Beyond that, registrants were able to receive tickets to the Indy 500. The big race happened the same weekend, and 35 of the attendees joined us for the grand spectacle. Fun was had by all, and the weekend struck the right balance of work and play.

Words of Wigdom
The secret to a perfectly natural look is a slightly imperfect part, says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Gently reposition strands along the part line or snip a few wispy pieces using manicure scissors—AND some restraint—for a slightly messy part that looks all your own.”

“Throughout my 20-year career, women’s comfort has always been at the top of my mind,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton, whose Stretch Cap Technology hugs the perimeter while eliminating pressure points for maximum comfort.”

For first-time wig wearers, “The trick is to stay close to the color of your eyebrows,” notes Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. If not, “then consider dyeing your eyebrows to match your chosen wig color.”

“Few people know that wigs can be styled just like natural hair—and that most hairstylists are happy to give your wig a custom cut,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Trimming bangs and shaping to your exact specifications can help make your wig indecipherable from your own natural hair.”

“The “Grey Hair, Don’t Care” trend—which saw women embracing their grey—is stronger than ever. And not just with the over-50 crowd. “Silver is chic, edgy and looks great on almost anyone,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton, who offers nearly every EnvyHair™ and synthetic style in 3 multi-dimensional grey shades.”
