Find Your Face Shape, Find Your New Wig

The seasons are changing—are you ready to change up your look? Choosing a new wig is a great way to refresh your style for summer, and with our 10 new styles, we have fabulous options for every woman. But where to start?

Considering your face shape is a crucial first step to finding your perfect new look—you can throw on the cutest wig in the bunch, but if it’s not suited to your particular shape and features, it won’t help you look your best. So, grab a mirror, and let’s evaluate. You’ll want to pay attention to three areas: the brow, cheekbone, and the jawline.

How to Determine Your Face Shape

Begin by identifying which area of your face is the widest. If the jaw is your widest point, your face is likely square. If your cheekbones are the widest area, consider yourself as having a round face. If your forehead is widest and tapers to your jawline, mark yourself down as being heart shaped. If none of those characteristics seem to apply, chances are you are an oval.

Pro tip: Drape your hair with a towel, and use a lip pencil to trace the outline of your face on the mirror, then analyze.

Once you’ve figured out your basic face shape, it’s time to browse through the new Envy styles and see what might look best on you.

Oval

Ovals have the easiest face shape to flatter—you lucky ladies look good in almost everything—so explore the collection to your heart’s content. The loose waves of Bianca are a nice place to start and are sure to bring out your eyes. Or go for short, flirty fun with the curls of Kenya or Kelsey.

Round

Round faces look great with layered bangs and curls or volume at the crown to add height. Dakota, with her swooping bangs and light layers would be an excellent wig to compliment a round face, as would Bianca’s curly volume. Maya would also be a great choice, as very long styles help give a slenderizing shape to the face and neck.

Heart

With a broader forehead and petite chin, asymmetrical lines and narrow, wispy bangs are the way to go for heart-shaped faces. Kelsey and Harper are perfect for this face shape, or if you’re looking for something a bit sleeker, give Coti or Sabrina a try.

Square

Women with square faces will want to choose soft, flowy styles in order to soften their sharp angles and boxy jawlines. Maya’s cascading waves accent your angular form in all the right places! And if you’re in the mood for something shorter, give Zoey’s smooth layers a whirl.

It’s fun to explore the different looks you can achieve with Envy Wigs. These guidelines will get you headed in the right direction, but in the end only you will know which style fits your personality, lifestyle—and face shape—best.

The secret to a perfectly natural look is a slightly imperfect part, says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Gently reposition strands along the part line or snip a few wispy pieces using manicure scissors—AND some restraint—for a slightly messy part that looks all your own.”

For first-time wig wearers, “The trick is to stay close to the color of your eyebrows,” notes Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. If not, “then consider dyeing your eyebrows to match your chosen wig color.”

“Few people know that wigs can be styled just like natural hair—and that most hairstylists are happy to give your wig a custom cut,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Trimming bangs and shaping to your exact specifications can help make your wig indecipherable from your own natural hair.”

“The “Grey Hair, Don’t Care” trend—which saw women embracing their grey—is stronger than ever.
