Hollywood does Hairpieces

The Grammys, the Oscars, the Golden Globes…award season may be over, but Hollywood is still abuzz with all the fashion fabs and faux pas. Did you notice any wigs walking down the red carpet this year? They were there—whether you noticed them, or not!

It must be tough being a celebrity. They’re always in the limelight, even when they just need to run to the grocery store for a late night pint of Rocky Road. If they don’t keep up with the latest fads and trends, you can bet there will soon be a snarky piece about them in the tabloids. God forbid they have a bad hair day! How do they cope? For generations, celebrities have turned to wigs to solve their hairdo woes.

Just imagine: you’re a highly sought-after actress who has committed to a handful of movies, a cameo on a popular TV sitcom, an appearance on The Tonight Show…. Each of these requires a different look, a different hair color and style. Perhaps one movie requires you to become a spunky redhead with a spiky little pixie, while the TV show wants you in long, flowing blonde locks. In reality, you’re a brunette. Dying your hair so many times would absolutely destroy your ’do! So, you go with a few well-chosen wigs to avoid doing some—possibly irreparable—damage.

Think of Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Lady Gaga…. All these ladies are clearly fans of the faux coiffe. Katie Holmes, Maggie Smith—even John Travolta—also join the bewigged ranks. Far from being something to shun, Hollywood has fully embraced the wig. And we have to say, we’re delighted. Because a world without wigs would be drab, indeed.

So, don’t be afraid to jump on the wig bandwagon. Visit your nearest Envy Wigs retailer to find your new A-List celebrity style!

Words of Wigdom
The secret to a perfectly natural look is a slightly imperfect part, says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Gently reposition strands along the part line or snip a few wispy pieces using manicure scissors—AND some restraint—for a slightly messy part that looks all your own.”

For first-time wig wearers, “The trick is to stay close to the color of your eyebrows,” notes Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. If not, “then consider dyeing your eyebrows to match your chosen wig color.”

“Few people know that wigs can be styled just like natural hair—and that most hairstylists are happy to give your wig a custom cut,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton. “Trimming bangs and shaping to your exact specifications can help make your wig indecipherable from your own natural hair.”

“The “Grey Hair, Don’t Care” trend—which saw women embracing their grey—is stronger than ever. And not just with the over-50 crowd. “Silver is chic, edgy and looks great on almost anyone,” says Designer and CEO, Alan Eaton, who offers nearly every EnvyHair™ and synthetic style in 3 multi-dimensional grey shades.”
